Hey there!
No, we haven’t met yet. But he and i have a friend who used to live here, thus he kind of introduced us to each other in a way? We kinda added each other on facebook and we just got along so well so we kept getting closer and closer. Well, we spoke once a month or so cause we were both in other relationships at the time but whenever we did, we just really enjoyed it. We could talk about anything and just have fun, you know? That lasted for 3 years, then last year we were both single and we started talking more, we started skyping, playing truth or dare on skype (the normal kind) and we got more comfy with each other. We expressed our feelings for eachother and got into a relationship, and now, we’ve been happily together for almost 7 months now and we’ve already made plans for the future. We’re obviously very intimate with eachother, keep sending photos of our day to day activities, we have Whatsapp so we keep sending each other notes and stuff, then at night we use an app called Nimbuzz to call eachother (we have iPhones). All in all, the most important part is communication and making your s/o a part of your day to day life, filling them in on every detail and all so the distance seems somewhat less and bearable. If travel isn’t a huge problem for both of you, you can talk about making future plans and stuff… About trying harder, don’t stress yourself too much, everything should go both way, you shouldn’t be the only one trying to make it work. That’s what a relationship is about, it’s about supporting eachother and all the togetherness stuff lol (you probably already know that so i’ll cut myself short) 
That’s about all i can say really, that’s how we make it work and we’re both very happy to be with eachother :)
